The Angela Fleischman lab at UC Irvine is dedicated to understanding the pathogenesis of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN or MPD) which includes polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, myelofibrosis). Our focus is on the role of inflammation in MPN.

Sultan received his B.S. from Qassim University in Saudi Arabia. He started in the Fleischman lab as a master’s student in the Biomedical and Translational Science program (MS-BATS) and is continuing on for his PhD. Sultan is investigating different approaches to protect hematopoietic stem cells from proliferation induced exhaustion following inflammatory stress.
