The Angela Fleischman lab at UC Irvine is dedicated to understanding the pathogenesis of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN or MPD) which includes polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, myelofibrosis). Our focus is on the role of inflammation in MPN.

Lucas completed his bachelor’s in cellular and molecular biology at Nevada State University in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was in research labs studying nucleic acid biochemistry. As a PhD student in Dr. Fleischman’s lab, Lucas is currently studying the JAK2V617F mutation’s ability for non-canonical signalling through the IL-10 receptor pathway with regard to MPN.
